How do I Change an ROs Location?

Overview
Sometimes an estimate comes into PartBay assigned to the wrong shop location — whether due to a low-level reassignment, an initial setup error, or another reason. PartBay allows you to quickly reassign the estimate to the correct location directly from the EMS Activity file.
How to Change the Location
Open the estimate in the EMS Activity file
Click the pencil icon next to the current location
Select the new location from the dropdown
Click Confirm
Once confirmed, PartBay will automatically resend the file to the connected marketplaces with the updated location. The refreshed file typically reappears in your dashboard immediately but then takes 10–20 seconds for it to re-sync with the marketplaces before requesting parts.
What Happens Behind the Scenes
When a location change is confirmed, PartBay:
Archives the existing file at the original location
Creates a new order under the updated location with all new parts
This means the estimate effectively starts fresh at the new location — new order, new parts, clean slate.
FAQs
Will I lose any data from the original order?
The order file is archived, not deleted. The new order is created with all new parts under the corrected location.
How long does it take for the change to take effect?
The updated file typically appears in your dashboard immediately and takes 10–20 seconds after confirming the change to re-sync with the marketplaces.
Does this affect quotes that were already received?
Yes. Because the file is re-sent to the marketplaces as a new order, previous quotes tied to the original location will not carry over. New quotes will come in under the updated location.
