Overview

The Personal Information page is found in the top right corner under your profile name and it's where you manage your own user profile in PartBay. It controls your identifying details, which locations you see by default across the platform, how you receive notifications, and your account password.

What you can edit on this page depends on your role. Standard users can update their own name and email. Admins can additionally manage location and position assignments for themselves and other users.

What You Can Edit

Standard Users

If you are not an admin, you can edit the following fields on your own profile:

  • First name

  • Last name

  • Email address

You cannot change your own location or position. If either needs to be updated, an admin at your organization will need to make the change for you.

Admins

Admins have the same editing abilities as standard users, plus the ability to:

  • Adjust their own location and position

  • Adjust the location and position of other users in their organization

My Locations

If you are assigned to a single location, this option will not appear — there is nothing to filter between.

If you are assigned to all locations, you'll see a My Locations selector on your Personal Information page. This lets you pick a subset of the locations in your network to use as your personal default filter.

Once set, My Locations appears as a filter option throughout the platform. Selecting it applies your saved set of locations in one click instead of picking them individually each time.

Notifications

You can choose which events you want to be notified about and how those notifications are delivered. Available notification types vary slightly by role, but generally include:

  • EMS

  • Requesting Parts

  • Ready to Order

  • Ordered

  • Rekeying

For each notification type, you can choose one or both of the following delivery methods:

  • In-platform notifications — appear inside PartBay while you're using it. Best if you're logged in throughout the day.

  • Email notifications — sent to the email address on your account. Useful if you're not always actively in PartBay and want to be pulled in when something needs your attention.

Changing Your Password

You can change your password from the Personal Information page. Clicking the change password option will send a password reset email to the email address on file for your account. Follow the link in that email to set your new password.

FAQs

I need to change my location — why can't I?

Location changes require admin permissions. Reach out to an admin at your organization and they can update it for you.

I don't see the My Locations option. Why?

The My Locations selector only appears for users assigned to all locations. If you're assigned to a single location, there's nothing to filter between, so the option is hidden.

Will I get notifications for everything by default?

Notification defaults vary by role. You can review and adjust every notification type on your Personal Information page at any time.

I didn't receive my password reset email.

The reset email is sent to the address currently on file for your account. If you're not receiving it, confirm your email address on the Personal Information page is correct, and check your spam folder. If it's still missing, contact PartBay support.
